Download a PDF Version of the Newsletter! “A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9 Proverbs 16:9 is a verse we use when sharing our testimony. It is amazing how often we plan our schedules and God in His sovereignty changes them. We had carefully “planned” a family vacation and churches for deputation months in advance. But God, in His sovereignty, changed our plans. We are learning to be flexible and praise Him when plans change. Through many unexpected circumstances, we rearranged our week of vacation and will be able to spend more time with our family. This year Brenda did more than just attend the State Ladies Retreat at Iowa Regular Baptist Camp at Clear Lake, Iowa. The theme was “Getting to the Heart of Friendship,” hosted by Faith Baptist Church of Iowa City and Harvest Baptist Church in Williamsburg, IA. With faith … Read More

We praise God that He has blessed our deputation schedule and it became obvious that we needed to step down as youth leaders. God gave us a passion to serve with the youth and we have faithfully served close to 12 years. Yet we know that God is directing us to a new season. We praise God that he has replaced us with mature believers that have that same passion. On August 17, we helped our church with their annual International Give Away. Approximately two hundred international students came to the church, sat through a short gospel presentation, and then picked out one or more pieces of large furniture and some household items. … Read More
The-Krueger-Family-July-2013-Newsletter “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” Ephesians 6:10-11 (NKJV) In VBS this year we learned about the armor of God. It was a much-needed lesson about the necessity of spending time in God’s Word o that you can resist the “wiles of the devil.” July 15-19, Amanda, Luke and Nathanael spent the week with about 120 other children in VBS. Nathanael made a different part of the armor each day in the Pre-primary class (see the picture with the complete suit of armor). Brenda helped in his class, which averaged about 40 students every day. On Tuesday and Wednesday that same week Brenda and I attended our first CBM Family conference. A friend from church watched all four kids while … Read More
I was looking forward to taking a nap in the van while Brenda was driving home. Little did I know that God would use Rebekah to encourage me. Rebekah sang these words over and over for an hour straight: My God is so great, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing my God cannot do for you! I never did take that nap, instead, I listened to Rebekah and meditated on those words.

Sometimes our prayers were answered before we were even able to verbalize them. June 7-8 we began the process of downsizing by having our first garage sale. We set out our display board and had opportunities to share with some of the shoppers. One of the neatest was a discussion with our neighbors about our plans. We invited them to church, and we then asked them about a one on one Bible study. Keep praying for them and for more open doors. June was a busy ministry month. The first two weekends we presented in Union and Reinbeck, Iowa. June 17-23 … Read More

It seemed appropriate as we have been studying and preparing to share the Word at other churches. We have officially hit the deputation trail. As of right now, our family has presented in 5 churches and our schedule is full until November. Brian has been able to teach Sunday school, preach, share CBM and our calling. Brenda has taught children’s Sunday school, ministered through piano, and shared her testimony. Amanda and Luke have enjoyed singing special music and playing piano for offertories. Nathanael and Rebekah have enjoyed visiting new places and meeting new people. It has been a privilege to meet new … Read More
In the Krueger house, we generally design the cars for speed. And this year was no different. Time was not on our side, so we did the basics. We didn’t bake the wood to remove 10% water weight. We didn’t polish the axels or sand the wheels. But we did put optimize the weight by putting 3 ounces of weight in the back of the car. All the cars were set to run on 3 wheels, then we spun the wheels while adding graphite. There are so many little tips and tricks to optimize the car for speed. I also had the opportunity to help with 4 other cars. The biggest highlight was helping our 4-year-old neighbor build his first car. Our neighbor took 2nd in his division. Nathanael was in that division and didn’t place. Luke lost to his sister again and ended up taking 3rd place. And Amanda took … Read More

Amanda, Luke, and Nathanael all designed and helped with cars. Brian was also able to help our 4-year-old neighbor design and build a car this year. On the day of the … Read More
As we thought about our display board and how to get our kids interested, I came up with the idea of building a church out of Legos. Lego has never created a set to build a church, so we started searching the internet and found someone on eBay selling the plans to build a Lego church. The plans called for 1,889 Lego blocks. I soon realized that buying the blocks from Lego was going to get expensive at .20 each, and some of the pieces were no longer being sold. That is when I found www.bricklink.com. I placed 12 different orders with 12 different people. Some of the pieces were new and some of the pieces were used. We learned to never buy used white pieces, they discolor as they age. The kids where excited as the packages arrived and couldn’t wait to get started. Brenda realized pretty quickly that the building process went … Read More
