“Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion, “ says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!” Lamentations 3:22-24 (NKJV)

Two years ago we took a significant step of faith and attended candidate school with Continental Baptist Missions, CBM, to become church builder missionaries. We were excited and nervous all at the same time. Now as we reflect on the last two years we continue to be reminded of God’s faithfulness and humbled by what He is doing in and through us. At times, we’ve been exhausted and worn out, yet God gives us the strength we need for each day. When we started we had no idea how pre-field ministry would impact our family. Today we can say that we have been blessed and greatly encouraged by God’s people. They welcome us into their homes and sometimes even let us sleep in the master bedroom. They prepare wonderful food and create special memories for us. The people of God have made this time both fun and rewarding for our family. We are very thankful for the many blessings God has given to us on pre-field ministry. We also eagerly anticipate the day when we can be on the field full-time experiencing a whole new set of God’s blessings.

Early in the month Amanda and Brenda spent a weekend together. They worked through “Passport to Purity” and enjoyed quality time studying what God’s Word says about growing up—and enjoyed horseback riding, one of Amanda’s favorites. For Luke’s 9th birthday he went to lunch with his dad and celebrated with a Lego cake. While visiting one of our churches we spent the afternoon touring covered bridges in the local area. We enjoy seeing these hidden treasures in places we have never visited.

This month we ministered at Altoona Regular Baptist Church in Altoona, IA, Grace Baptist Church in Winterset, IA, and Indianola Regular Baptist Church in Indianola, IA. We have enjoyed witnessing God’s faithfulness over the last 2 years. Thank you for taking time to read our newsletter and for being involved in our lives.

Fulfilling the great commission together,

Brian, Brenda, Amanda, Luke, Nathanael, and Rebekah
