2 Cor. 13:4-8a“Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.”

This year has been a unique year for us as our oldest two children were married. Luke & Caitlyn’s wedding was in March in her parents’ backyard. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful wedding. Amanda & Ben were married in August. God also blessed them with a beautiful day and wedding. It was special for us because their wedding was the first wedding in the new building at Baptist Bible Church in Sparta, MI, that CBM finished building last fall. It has been neat to witness their love for each other and God. We are thankful they both have found solid believers to marry.

A lot of construction has taken place since our last newsletter. The outside of the building is finished. We did a stone wainscoting on three sides of the building along with LP smart siding. It was a blessing to have a couple volunteer groups come and help with the stonework and siding. We are now working inside. We are painting half of the building and we will be hanging drywall in the rest of the building soon.

Alongside of the construction of the building, we have also been actively involved in the ministry of the church here. Brian just finished a series on Philippians in Sunday school and Brenda is playing the piano regularly for services. Once a month the church does a nursing home service and the four of us have started singing a special song for them. Brian and Nathanael have been attending the men’s prayer breakfast and Brenda and Rebekah will attend the women’s Bible study that is starting soon. We are thankful for Valley Baptist Church and their involvement in our lives. On a serious note, pray for church planter Pastor Matt and Juanetta as they are away from Valley Baptist Church and in Alaska helping their oldest son and family in any way they can. Their daughter-in-law is dealing with stage 4 cancer.

Homeschooling is going well. We have two highschoolers this year. Nathanael is a senior and Rebekah is a freshman. They are both attending music classes at the high school here in Eureka. Nathanael is taking choir and Rebekah is taking both choir and band. She is enjoying playing for pep band at football and volleyball games. They will also be taking piano and guitar lessons starting next month.
