March 2019 Newsletter

“While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease.” Genesis 8:22 (NKJV)

Our first Michigan winter has been CRAZY! Yes, it was crazy weather, but it was also interesting trying to figure out the ins and outs of keeping our new house warm. For the first part of winter our master bedroom ran between 50 and 54 degrees. We learned that the return duct work wasn’t hooked up and it took a while to solve that problem. The cold weather also exposed drafty doors and windows. Due to a major ice storm we were on generator power for 36 hours. We were very grateful for the generator that came with the house! Now the melting snow has brought unwanted water into our pole building. Still, we know, based on God’s Word, that summer will come and we’re looking forward to new adventures.

Brian is enjoying his daily time in the CBM home office. Dallas, Pete, and Mike have been very gracious and continue to answer all of his questions. There is so much to learn! He has been working on pre-plans for the church in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin and was given the task of creating a materials list for a new garage that will replace the dumpster pad.

We continue to get settled in here. We now have Michigan driver’s licenses and license plates. Even though it seems like a simple task, it required very specific paperwork. The kids enjoyed an eight week basketball league and we have found a piano teacher. All of us appreciate and some of us enjoy the return of regular practices and lessons. We praise God for a new supporting church! Between the additional support and a new plan worked out with CBM to apply personal investments, our support level has increased to 60%! For our first deputation meeting in Michigan we presented at Berlin Baptist Church in Marne, MI. We had a great time sharing the ministry and meeting new people!

Fulfilling the great commission together,
Brian, Brenda, Amanda, Luke, Nathanael and Rebekah
