“All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Tim. 3:16-17 (NKJV)
Sitting in our church on January 1, I (Brian) was convicted that he needed a better plan for personal devotions. He also knew Amanda was struggling. The youth group leaders have been encouraging the teens to use the book, “Once-A-Day Devotional for Teens.” After Amanda explained the book to us, she and I decided to make a New Year’s goal. It took some convincing to get Brenda to change her reading plan but in the end, she decided to join us. We are praying that God will allow us to continue through the end of the year. It has been a blessing. The synergy created by three of us reading the same passage results in good conversations and accountability. Seeing the Bible through the eyes of our daughter has also highlighted the Scripture in a new way. After talking with other people about our plans, two friends have joined in. Just recently we found out that another church family is doing the same thing with their daughter. If you would like to join us, please let us know! We can encourage one another! God has called us to be church builders but the most important tool we have is our Bible. We want to be studying God’s Word so that we can be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work!
This month Luke had his first band concert. He also went hunting for deer with his dad during late muzzleloader season. He had a few opportunities and even took a hot, but wasn’t able to get a deer. Luke is making plans for next year!
The kids enjoyed using power tools to take down our Christmas tree. Luke and Amanda enjoyed it but Nathanael wasn’t so sure. We also had a great time visiting friends in Creston, IA where the kids had fun making towers to the ceiling. We are praising God for a new supporting church and a new individual supporter! Thank you or your prayers!
Fulfilling the great commission together,
Brian, Brenda, Amanda, Luke, Nathanael and Rebekah
