“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.” Matthew 6:19-20 (NKJV)

This month we put significant effort into downsizing with another three weekends of garage sales. We ended each weekend thinking we didn’t sell a lot, however, when we looked at the combined effort we were thankful for our progress. Unfortunately, we also had additional help in the form of mice. We are not sure where they are getting into the house, but we have trapped over 10 mice since the 4th of July. They, of course, got into things and caused damage. Thankfully, we haven’t lost anything of much value. It was a practical reminder for us about where we are laying up our treasure. Brian’s parents came to celebrate Fourth of July. We enjoyed watching fireworks and spending time at a local flea-tique. While they were here we celebrated an early birthday for Amanda and made homemade donuts, a Krueger family tradition.

Since Amanda’s birthday fell on the first day of Jr. High Camp, Brenda took her out for a birthday breakfast before dropping her off at church. Amanda will always remember spending her twelfth birthday at Iowa Regular Baptist Camp in Ventura, IA. We were overwhelmed by sea creatures at Faith Baptist Church in Iowa City as we did “Ocean Commotion” for Vacation Bible School. We had 170 or more children every day! Brenda played piano and served as secretary in the Primary class. The Continental Baptist Mission’s family conference was that same week, so on Wednesday Brenda and the kids went to Ankeny and spent the day with the CBM Family. Each year there is a family music night for the Wednesday night service. The kids sang and Amanda played piano. The month of July also took us to Liberty Baptist Church in Dike, IA where we enjoyed sharing the ministry and meeting fellow believers.

Fulfilling the great commission together,

Brian, Brenda, Amanda, Luke, Nathanael and Rebekah Krueger
