”… and for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; that in it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” Ephesians 6:19-20 (NKJV)
The missionary who visited our sending church for Vacation Bible School (VBS) this month presented a message on how to pray for missionaries biblically. Using the passage above, you can pray for us in three specific ways. One, please pray for opportunities to share and defend the gospel. Two, pray for boldness. Paul asked for this twice! Three, pray for clarity. We’re specifically asking for wisdom to clearly explain the gospel. We would ask that you remember these three things as you pray for us to be effective missionaries.
In July, about 150 children attended our VBS. Brenda played piano for the singing time and helped in the Primary Class. The theme took us to Mt. Kilimanjaro and learning how to be wise like Solomon. We also celebrated the 150th birthday of Brian’s hometown of Battle Creek, Iowa, over the Fourth of July. Brian and his dad competed in a beard contest, we watched parades, played games and enjoyed fireworks as a family. The month of July also took us to Continental Baptist Mission’s (CBM), a conference in Ankeny, Iowa. We always enjoy spending time with the other CBM missionaries, studying God’s word as well as “clowning” around. In the midst of the busyness, we celebrated Amanda’s 11th birthday with cheesecake.
We didn’t have any churches scheduled this month, so we took the opportunity to revisit a couple of churches we shared with previously. It was such an encouragement to be welcomed back and have people tell us they regularly pray for us.
Fulfilling the great commission together,
Brian, Brenda, Amanda, Luke, Nathanael and Rebekah Krueger
