“Therefore, if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any  fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.” Phil. 2:1-2 (NKJV)

Our family has experienced joy serving Christ this summer. Amanda, Luke, and Nathanael worked at Lincoln Lake Baptist Youth Camp, Gowen, MI. Amanda was the Maintenance and Housekeeping Supervisor, while Luke and Nathanael were support staff. Every weekend they came home with stories to share and it is obvious they enjoyed working at camp. It was an extra special blessing when our sending church (Iowa City) sent their youth group on a week-long service trip at Lincoln Lake.

In July all of our kids participated with our youth group’s mission trip in Columbus, Ohio where they helped a church plant with a Soccer Camp outreach. As parents we are thankful for other believers that take time to invest into our kids’ lives. It brings joy to our hearts that they desire to serve.

There have been some delays with the project at Baptist Bible Church in Sparta, MI. While we are waiting, we helped Green Corners Baptist Church in Belding, MI remodel their warming pantry. Then we traveled to Gibraltar Bible Baptist Church in Gibraltar, MI to work on their shingling project. It is a joy to labor beside fellow believers and fellow missionaries.

We are also praising God for a truck to pull our fifth-wheel trailer. We asked for prayer for a truck which we were planning to buy next year and someone told us about a 2000 Ford F-550 with 170,000 miles that was for sale and has a history of being used in the CBM building ministry. We felt there was good potential that this could be the truck, but we don’t have a lot of knowledge regarding diesel trucks. We asked a young man studying auto mechanics in our church if he would help us look over the truck for purchase. He spotted a few things that need to be fixed and encouraged us to make the purchase.

In the last 12 months, God moved people to give toward the truck fund in the amount of $7,907.53 which covered 40% of the cost. The week we purchased the truck, one church increased our support and another picked us up for support. The new monthly support covered the cost to insure the truck. The same young man helped Brian and Luke replace the rotors and brakes on the truck, but wouldn’t accept payment. We still need to purchase tires and fix a few more things, but we praise God for the provision of a truck!

We are thankful for new supporters and increased support. Our support has increased 4%! Thank you God!
