“But we are all like an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags; We all fade as a leaf, And our iniquities, like the wind, Have taken us away.” Isaiah 64:6 (NKJV)
God continues to prepare us for the ministry he called us into. Our main sewer line backed up, changing our plans and desires. We labored in vain to get toilets to flush. Finally, we hired a professional who removed a handful of tree roots and the problem was fixed! We learned about plumbing and threw away quite a few filthy rags, which reminded us of how God views our sin. It isn’t pretty. Yet, God sent His Son to die and pay the penalty for our filthy rags. Praise the Lord for the opportunity to accept His wonderful gift to us!
In early November we traveled to Grace Baptist Church in Corning, IA. It was fun to reconnect with family we hadn’t seen in years as well as minister in the church there. That Monday, Brian was invited to a regional pastor’s meeting. On the way home, we encountered our first winter weather and were thankful for the many people who pray for us as we travel on deputation.
Last month we celebrated Thanksgiving with both our church family and physical family and Rebekah’s 3rd birthday. We ministered at First Baptist Church in Bancroft, IA and Calvary Baptist Church in Chatfield, MN. One of the greatest blessings God has given us as parents is our kids wanting to be involved in ministry. Here is a picture of them singing at Calvary Baptist in Minnesota.
Finally, we are praising God for our second supporting church! It is an honor and a blessing to serve Him and we couldn’t do it without your help. Thank you! As you celebrate Christmas, perhaps you’ll think of us and remember that Jesus is God’s solution for our filthy rags. He is the true reason for Christmas. Have a Merry Christmas!
